How Winners for the Special Awards are chosen
- Francis Grover Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award
- "Matty" Award for Vision and Tenacity
- Children's and Youth Theatre Award
Each year the NH Theatre Awards reviews nominations they receive of potential recipients for the 3 major Special Awards. Selection is done after lengthy research and discussion of the merits of each nominee by a majority vote. Only one (1) recipient is selected each year that these awards are presented.
These three awards recipients are notified prior to the Awards Show to allow them time to gather family and friends to attend and share in their celebration, as well as to prepare any acceptance speech or collect photos as may be requested by the NHTA.
Each winner can expect a number of complimentary tickets to the Awards Show. The number of tickets varies depending on venue and other factors.
(These awards are not guaranteed to be presented every year, but only as a certain level of merit has been demonstrated.)
This award is presented to recipients selected by participating NHTA theatre companies.
ALL submissions (maximum of 1 per company per season) will be recognized at the Awards Show.
- "Recognition of Excellence in Playwriting"
Recipients of this award are selected by a committee comprised of both NHTA board members and volunteers from participating NHTA theatre companies. This committee reviews all submissions from participating theatre companies and selects as many or as few playwrights as it deems deserving of recognition.
(This award is not guaranteed to be presented every year, but only as a certain level of excellence has been demonstrated.)
