• Professional Production:

          To qualify as a "professional" production, the producing company shall, by general practice for that production, pay a salary or stipend to the acting company as well as to    technical / non-acting positions associated directly to the specific show.   The acting company and other persons shall be deemed professional employees for the duration of the production.    Gas and food allowances do not constitute compensation for services.

          As it is common practice in NH for Professional Productions to occasionally include unpaid acting interns or local amateurs to supplement their professional acting companies, it is permitted for the company to include these unpaid performers based on the specific needs of any given show and still be entered as a professional production. 

          All criteria posted by the NHTA for eligibility in any individual award category shall apply to the individual only.   Non-compliance in an individual award category shall disqualify the individual from eligibility for the award, but will not disqualify the production.


  • Community Production:

                To qualify as a "community" production, the producing company may not pay a salary to any member of the acting company.     Gas and food allowances do not constitute compensation for services.

                As it is common practice in NH for Community Productions to pay stipends or salaries to some or all members of the production team, it is permitted for the producing company to hire various  technical / non-acting positions based on the specific needs of any given show and still be entered as a community production. 

                All criteria posted by the NHTA for eligibility in any individual award category shall apply to the individual only.   Non-compliance in an individual award category shall disqualify the individual from eligibility for the award, but will not disqualify the production.


  • Youth Production:

            To qualify as a "youth" production, the producing company may not pay a salary to any member of its acting company AND all actors in a youth production must be NO MORE THAN 19 years of age at the time the production opens.     Gas and food allowances do not constitute compensation for services.             Positions other than actors may be held by anyone of any age, including adults.

            As it is common practice in NH for Youth Productions to pay stipends or salaries to some or all members of the production team, it is permitted for the producing company to hire various technical / non-acting positions based on the specific needs of any given show and still be entered as a youth production. 

           All criteria posted by the NHTA for eligibility in any individual award category shall apply to the individual only.   Non-compliance in an individual award category shall disqualify the individual from eligibility for the award, but will not disqualify the production.
